I have posted about this once before. I have a Sansui 5500 that I purchased a couple months ago and when I got it home and connected it the FM tuner worked great then I began to have problems with it... I have tried an old fashioned standard two-lead FM antenna and a new powered FM antenna (connected to 300 ohm) with the same results - sometimes my stations tune in great, other times when I power the receiver on I get NO FM stations - but if I turn the volume to MAX I can hear a little bit. Switching the FM mute button on and off makes no difference. So I took it to my trusted vintage hi-fi repair guy (who is an expert with decades of experience) and he checked out the receiver and said that it works great and found NO problems with the FM reception and insisted that the receiver is in 100% good working condition. So I brought it home, hooked it up, and the FM tuning worked great. However, this morning I turned on the receiver and I had the same problem as before. I've read many posts about this receiver and it seems that many people have experienced the same problem. Any ideas?
