Sansui 5500 Receiver and SP 2700 speakers

Hey Folks,
Just picked up this receiver and speakers from a Navy Vet. who bought these in Japan in1972. The receiver radio and auxillary work, but can't get the phono sections to work. Any ideas??? Deoxit for the selector switch? Also, I can't find any info on these units. If someone knows anything about them , I would greatly appreciate input.

I would try Deoxit. I have the 3300, which was PX only!! You should be able to find some information, not much though.

Wiggle the RCA plugs to see if hte jacks may be intermittent. Else that 5500 likely needs a restoration. They are really nice little amps.

So you are saying that there were Sansui Receivers that were only sold at a PX ? Must have been a very limited number of units sold?

I would think, that they were also sold in Japan.

I have the 5500 and the 3300. They aren't going anywhere. Timeless pieces and rare. Sound is amazing. They get extra bonus points because they were most likely owned by a veteran.
