Sansui 551 receiver knob broken off?

I just bought a sansui au 551 from a flea market and during the ride home the speaker selector knob broke off. This is very annoying as this is probably the hardest off all the switches / potentiometers on this device to replace as it also acts as a power switch. Any tips on how this can be resolved?

1, Assembled and ready for drill press,,, (or lathe) From pic L toR,,, 1/4" center drill with 1/8" pilot... bushing with 1/4" thru hole. long enough to couple switch shaft and drill straight, pot/switch needing longer shaft...
To use,,, put assembled parts vertical in vise, or do it carefully in place... Put drill in chuck of DP,,, Drill into pot shaft just enough to make 1/8" centering hole,,, Remove bushing and drill 1/8" hole for pin in shaft, make sure pot is still vertical in vise!!! Clamp either a donor pot or piece of shaft in vise and put bushing over it... drill shaft end with 1/8" starter hole,, then drill 1/8" hole in shaft,,, pin shafts together with 1/8" pin, nail/ or thread it and use a threaded rod/screw shaft or what ever ya got,,, and super glue or epoxy together,,, cut off donor shaft to length,,, and Bobs yer uncle!!!!!!!!!
Use a donor pot with a splined shaft if that's what ya need!!!!
Enjoy!!!
