Hi guys,

First time posting to AK, but very useful discussions on equipment.
I was wondering if anyone could provide me with some insight on my equipment. Currently I have a sansui 5900z, kenwood ka-8300 and pioneer pl-530.
Also trying to see which is the better receiver the sansui or my kenwood?

Depends... How do you define "better"?
Maybe better isn’t the world. I would like more info on both amps/receivers since the sansui is a solid state and the kenwood is an intergrated amp. Planning on playing mostly Vinlyn. What pairing do you think would have a cleaner sound.

The Sansui will probably have cleaner sound, but the Kenwood is a better amp.

The best person to ask that question is yourself.
Not trying to be snarky in my response but it shouldn't be too hard to determine which you prefer between just two amps.Try doing that when you have six or eight. In my experience most mid level vintage has a very good general level of sound. It's the other things like speakers, type of music, how loud you like and sources like CD,vinyl are matters that come into play.Personally when vintage was my primary amplification I preferred Sansui.
