Sansui 661 - Sound doesn't come on for 10+ minutes

Greetings!

My wife has owned this Sansui 661 since it was brand new. Everything works
like a charm *except* for the sound which takes 10+ minutes before it comes on.

No difference whether am/fm, phono or aux. Switching btw speakers and the
headphones has no impact, either.

Am not an expert with stereo receivers, but thinking it's probably the amplifier.
Service manual has no troubleshooting procedure for that problem.

Does anyone have suggestions? We're in Boise, ID if that helps.

Yes to all of the above. It could also be the bias and offset being out of whack; it's eye-catching that it comes on after warming up. Try a hot start. See if it produces audio if you shut it down when it's working and then immediately restart it. If it comes on perform a bias and offset check. I notice that this is a transistor biassed driver board which I've found seem to see to start from cold with high bias and offset which diminish rapidly over time. Do not be tempted to adjust the bias and offset until you have it on a DBT in case the trimmers go open when you move them; that would introduce a raft of new issues that you won't like at all...
