Sansui 662 speaker upgrade: JBL 2500 + Klipsch KSW-10 vs Dayton B65 (+sub) vs JBL 830T (4 ohm)

Hello everyone,

I’m running a Sansui 662 receiver (similar power class to the 661) and my current speakers are Mordaunt-Short MS-15.

I want to upgrade my speakers, but I’m in a small town outside the US, so options are limited. My use is mostly vinyl and streaming music (jazz, rock), and occasionally moderate volume gatherings (~30 people) with electronic music.

Here are the options I can realistically buy:

Used JBL 2500 + used Klipsch KSW-10 subwoofer (bundle)

New Dayton Audio Classic B65 (or other similar new monitors)+ Klipsch sub.

Used JBL 830T floorstanders .


Budget: roughly 300 usd.

Questions :=)

Between the JBL 2500 and Dayton B65 ,with sub, which is the safer bet for a warm, musical sound on a Sansui receiver?

Would the JBL 830T (4ohms) be a bad idea on a Sansui 662 for occasional higher-volume use? I’m concerned about running 4ohms on a vintage Sansui.

For reference, the Klipsch sub I’m looking at is a KSW-10 with speaker-level inputs, adjustable crossover and phase.
