Sansui 7070 Weak Left Channel & the Dolby NR Button

My Sansui 7070 has been with me over 4 years ago, but was neglected for the past two years. Recently I took it out and play it again, found that the left channel is rather weak and scratchy. Random fiddling led me to discover that if I press the "Dolby NR / 4 Channel Adapter" button (which will silent both channels) and release it, the left channel will sort of "wake up" and play at the level on par with the right side. Sometimes turning the volume way high for a short while will also do the trick.

Should I worry about this?

Sounds like it needs some magical elixir (AKA Deoxit D5).
