I received a Sansui 7900Z from my dad. There were some problems with it before I got it so my dad took it to a shop to get fixed. He thought there was only something wrong with the power switch. They wanted a lot of money to repair it which we didn't want to spend. Instead we took it back and I've been working on fixing it up. At the shop they snipped the wire going to the power switch. We figured out the switch did go bad so it's wired to a different SPST switch that's outside of the case for now. When we got the device to turn back on we figured out that for both system A and B the right channel didn't work anymore. Both channels worked before he took it to the shop. We know that because the only problem it had before was that it wouldn't turn on. Usually we would keep it on and just shut off speakers A and B or we would shut off the power from a surge protector. The set of speakers we have right now are plugged into the left channels for system A and B. When we plug a speaker into the right channel it sorta just sputters and every once in a while you can hear the bass but it sounds really distorted and noisy. Is there any common problems that may cause a channel for both systems to go bad? If so what are they and how could we fix them?
The only other thing that's a problem is the light that lights up the display has been dead for a long time. Is there any way to easily take it out and replace it? I saw some threads detailing where I could get some replacement lights so all I need is to figure out what light this model uses.
Also does anyone know where to find a replacement for the power switch?
