my sansui 8080db done somthing wierd today.i went to switch the selector from fm to aux and the lights on the tuner went dime .and then no lights and the meter lights went out to i checked the fuses there where to blown so i replaced them and the receiver. comes out of protection but no sound and no lights in the front if i use it as a straight amp it works fine. the two fuses i replaced are getting voltage on both sides of the fuse now.

Check the diodes on the protection circuit board. It is under the tuner ass. witch is very easy to take out. If I remember correctly, I had one doing something similar and it was a shorted diode.
