sansui 9000 protector light question

I Just Won A Sansui 9000 On Ebay And I Am Not Familiar With All Characteristics. When You Power The Unit Up The Protector Light Flashes For About 10 Seconds,is That Normal? Are The Lights In The Meters Ever Suppose To Dim Under Load? And Are These Amps Known For Blowing Tweeters? What Wattage Speaker System Is Safe To Use With This Amp?

Hi and welcome to AK. Yes the light will flash for around 10 seconds. I don't think the meter lights should dim as you crank up the power. They produce good clean power and lots of it so clipping should not be the norm unless you have reallly difficult speakers to drive at rock concert levels.

What speakers are you using?
