Sansui 9090 DB question

Hi, I know there are a lot of post about the protection light flashing, but this maybe different.
My brother was using my 9090DB until he got his own receiver, he was hooking up his new receiver to what he thought speakers and feed power into my Sansui even though it was off my Sansui 9090DB has been in protection mode ever since.
I'm an Electrician my Dad who passed four years ago was the Electronics master.
Any help would be appreciated.

More detail as to exactly what your brother did would help a great deal.

Sounds like the brother powered up the 9090db without any speakers attached ... which really shouldn't have been a problem ...

First things first, I'd check the speaker terminals carefully for any leftover wire strands that may be shorting out.

Well he had a splice in the wire between the speakers and my Sansui, I was there when he did it nothing was on yet he seperated the splice and hooked the wires to his new ( used ) receiver and I asked are those the correct wires to you're speakers?
He said yes I know what doing, he turned on his receiver and nothing happened no sound. Then he realized it and said oh, must be this end instead. That's when I got upset and tested my Sansui and I would not get out of protection mode.
My Dad was there also he thought the output transistors would have burnt. This happened 15 years ago it's been on a shelf since. Now I pulled each output transistor and tested them each with a Cricket tester and there all good.
If I pull the Driver the light goes green. I did pick up something from you guys thank you.

If the 9090DB was off, I can't see how this would bother it.

Check the fuse resistors on the driver board.

Okay, thank you for the much needed advise I will work on the Driver board. It my take me a little time, a good winter project.
