Sansui 9090 F-2436 variable resistor replacements

When I was working on the driver board, I replaced VR03 and 04 with Bournes 1k variable resistors
3362X-1-102LF since I had those on hand from my Eight restoration project. I'm in the process of putting together and order for Mouser, and thought I'd get the replacements for VR01 and 02, which are 4.7k trimmers. However, neither Mouser nor digikey has these with the side pins orientation (3362X series). Mouser has 5k 3362X, that's the closest resistance I see. Can I use these, or are there other suggestions?

I replaced all the e-caps on this board, but see from pictures that others replace some of the "green" colored caps. Is that something that should be done, or are the original fine?

I put new e-caps in for C01 and 02 (0.47 µF 50V), but wonder if those should have been Wima films?

I use the 5K trimmers as you can see in the image - without issue. For my next one however, I'm getting multi-turn bourns b/c these are simply too touchy for my taste and can
get annoying to work with. I also use Nichicon KZ series (MUSE line) electrolytics for C01/C02. The caps that go there are polar (that is they have polarity) while Wima film caps
don't. I've seen people do it too - I'm not sure by how much it improves things - if at all. I have no urge to give it a shot anytime soon.

Films are generally lower leakage, don't degrade with age, and less noisy.

Yes some do replace the green Mylar capacitors with better grade polypropylene (preferred) or polyester caps. But as long as they are good, there really is no "requirement" to do so. As far as the .47uf, the WIMA or other good quality film caps are to many superior sounding. I use film where it is possible instead of e-caps. Again, it's not a "requirement", but a matter of personal preference and longevity as film caps won't dry out and change value with age.

Good to know. I'll be putting Wima films in for C01/02 when I put the new trimmers in. I used films on the driver boards of my Eight, and the sound is really nice!
