Sansui 9090 lamps

Bkpk50

Love fine sound
Where do I buy replacement lamps for my Sansui 9090? Only the speaker meters lamps work. I need 6 fuse like lamps which are Stanley 7 VO . 3 A. The tuner takes 4 and each other 2 meters (signal, tune) take one each. Funny that all lamps not working are up along the blue tuner area.... The lamps for tuner itself are tiny bulbs with white plastic base and are soldered to circuit board. Hoping replacing fuses(4) will solve lighting problem.

That problem is usually the selector switch. Power for the dial lamps run through it.

Do the aux/phono/fm/am indicator lights work?

Could be a fuse if they don't.

On my 9090, there was a bad solder joint on the lamp board. Pushing on the end of the board would make the lamps light.

Still don't know where to get fuses or lamps. Went to radio shak and the fuses are 250 amp. .. Way too much. Thanks for the great ideas. Will try all. Am a nurse and am working till Monday. On tuesday will get back to work on the sansui

Just checked all fuses with meter...all good. What next?? Silly me ordered fuses an then later learned hoe to check them with meter...so have a bunch do fuses coming which I will not need... Ha ha ha

Hi, I just did the by-pass trick on my 9090 and I do have the dial/meter lamps working now. BUT I still do not have my am/fm/phono/aux lights working. The only lamp I can tell right now that is bad is the "stereo" light. where is the fuse located for these lights? I did clean the selector switch but that did not change anything.

Did you ever get the am/fm/phone/aux lamps to work. I have also done the wire move put the lamps are not working.

Thanks for the help.

The selector switch needs to be cleaned many times. Moving the wire is only for the dial lamps. The function lamps still run through the selector switch. I had one here recently that had no function lamps. Many cleanings of the selector switch got them all working.

Absolutely. That worked for me just yesterday.
