Hello I was hoping for some guidance on an issue I’m having with my 9090. First some quick back ground.
When I purchased the unit it was working with the exception of the Indicator lights for FM and Phono. I can’t recall if the FM Stereo work at that time or not.
I decided to recap and clean all switches. So I recapped all boards with the exception of the Am/Fm receiver board. In the process I discovered that the function sector switch had the first wafer (closest to the front) top missing (broken off) it wasn’t anywhere to be found. I did replace that switch.
After the rebuild all function lights now work and the amp sounds fantastic! However it clearly will not tune in to FM Stereo. When you switch between stereo and mono there is NO change it’s clearly mono. The FM stereo light does not come on either. I have a dipole antenna and several very strong stations. Not sure it’s related but the muting switch is not working properly either. When “on” I get NO stations at all! When off I can tune in stations. I believe the FM stereo issue and the muting circuits are related.
I do have the service manual and schematics and have tried adjusting VR03 and VR04 with no result. I did change out the HA-1196 chip with a replacement but had no effect and C85.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.
