I'm looking at a Sansui 9090 locally that appears to be in excellent cosmetic condition. However it is offered as "for repair". Here is seller's description of issues:
"Sansui 9090 for repair. It looks great & plays but the protection light comes on when you flip the loudness switch & when tuning in stations, it produces a popping sound through the speakers & the protection light will come on. The only lights working are the meter lights."
Do the problems sound fatal or prohibitive? I can't repair myself. My tech works on $75/hour. If the repairs could be done at $400 or less, I would consider buying.
Anyone have an opinion as to best guess repair? Issues don't seem serious to me.
