Any ideas on a reasonable price for such a beast in good shape??? The asks on the 'bay seem to be in the 7-8K range but that seems high. Reverb is of no help.

They are just so darned rare. And I know what THAT means!

Thoughts??

Not that rare. I’ve worked on and seen quite a few.
Working 100%? Serviced in any way? These beasts always need work.

I think 2.5-3k is top end for these.

Possibly buying. The asking price is significantly above 3k

When you start entertaining spending 4 figures my first thought was that it had better be thoroughly restored by a competent tech the post above is spot on.

One of the main things with Sansui's of that era is the dreaded "Sansui Glue" TONS of threads here on AK if you're not aware. It can be a laborious time consuming task that should be done sooner then later.

Dropping 4 figures to only find out you'll need to put more money into it would suck!
