hi sansui experts, just wondering if there is a known method to perform an output adjustment on a sansui au-555 without using a scope? There is a method described here for the au-555a but not sansui au-555? Thanks!

Do you mean the centre voltage adjustment? - simply adjust so that the centre voltage is exactly half the rail voltage is my understanding.

if I refer to the service manual I meant the main amp section output adjustment - what's the best way to do this without a scope?

Well, if you mean the adjustment that mentions 'clipping' there is no other way as far as I know - apart from setting the centre voltage.

Let one of the AU-555 experts advise you, as I have never set one up I may not be the best person to advise you on this.

Ok thanks I'm familiar with the process for the 555a to set the centre voltage is it the same for the 555? I presume to circa 27v off the coupling cap?

Hi
Last month my sansui AU 555 broke on left channel.
So i had it fixed by local service shop.
The result is bad.
The treble is way too sibilance and the bass got no adequate punch.
Any idea why this happens ?
Thank you in advance
