Sansui AU-555a with modern speakers?

I've been using my AU-555a to power my JBL L-19s, been sounding great, have no issues.

I'm wondering if anyone can tell me about how old Sansuis paired up to modern, more bright, speakers, would I feel any flatness, can some speakers really be a mismatch to good old 555a?
Please do share your experiences.

I've been eyeing up some monitor audio bronze bx2 (recommended at 30W-100W), haven't really tried an old amp to a relatively recent speakers. Also, the recommended amp wattage is just above the rated value of the 555a, would that make the prospective speaker feel too flat, keen to learn about this too.

I am a big fan of "modern" Zu Audio speakers paired with Sansui gear of all kinds. I do like vintage ADS and Klipsch speakers, too. Looks like your speakers are 90dB sensitive so the AU-555a should be just fine for reasonable listening levels.

I have an AU222 driving a pair of Dali Spector 2's which I was worried it wouldn't be able to, due to them having a Sensitivity of 84.5 db.
My living room is small, 2 metre listening distance and I've got to say, this is my best pairing yet. The delicacy of the Dali's tweeters really show off the
AU222's gorgeous treble, but stopping just short of being 'bright' or harsh, giving a holographic, 3d effect, where the music just hangs in the air, in front of the speakers.
It's absolutely fantastic. Best of all, they were only £199, new and do look kinda retro.

You have plenty of power for any normal speaker.(not talking about "watt rating" but real world speaker driving ability) Your amplifier is beefy enough that a speaker isn't going to act like a poorly set equalizer. If you look at the recommended amplifier size for the speaker, it's a suggestion to get what they feel is the best performance from the speaker. It doesn't mean you can't use amplifiers outside those parameters. While a single ended 2A3 would likely be a poor choice, your 600 watt Krell would be fine. Both choices are well off the statistical likelihood of pairings.

The world is your oyster. Avoid the Infinity Kappa 9s, the Apogee Scintilla, and some other ridiculous speakers likely well out of your budget.
