Sansui AU-717 purchase advice

I have a chance to purchase a Sansui AU-717 from a friend of a repair tech friend of mine. It is mint with rack handles like the one pictured. My buddy has gone though it and it has been serviced, but not capped. The guy wants $575. thoughts? My current amp is a Marantz 2252b

I paid $ 525 a month ago for an AU-919. Great shape. Tore it down and cleaned it up ( smoker, but then who was not doobin it up to Zeppelin in 81 ) very happy. If its what they say it is, seems like a decent purchace.

A couple of years ago, I paid about $220 for a worn out one, and dropped another $150 or so in parts to overhaul it.... not to mention a couple of weeks of my (free) labor after work doing the overhaul. It came out great and sounds fantastic.

So, yeah - I'd say you're in the ballpark, especially for a cosmetically mint one. I'd dicker on the "not re-capped" thing though, and ask him if he's removed all that nasty glue.

The tuner was realigned in 06.

Check the DC offset and bias ASAP
