Sansui AU-717 Rebuild Documentation Summary Share

I want to thank the community for all the help they've provided during my AU-717 rebuild. While my journey is not technically done (my unit needs more control cleaning) I am close enough that I am releasing the summary guide of lessons learned and references found that I promised long ago. The guide has been published on github. The https://github.com/Crumbs350/Sansui-AU-717-Rebuild repository contains:
  • how tos
  • by board removal suggestions
  • summary notes of and cross-references to informative Audiokarma posts
  • cross-reference of parts ordered by different members to repair units vs the actual part name
I chose to use GIT to supplement AK rather than move the discussion away from AK. I put the content on GIT because it allows version control history, the ability to split content into separate files, storage of binary files, public access, and maintains a concise collection of content that is sometimes hard to find in the assorted meandering AK threads. Please feel free to make suggestions for improvements or fork the repository to generate related content (AU-517 or other for instance).

Again, I really appreciate all the help from members like @Hyperion , @Leestereo, @MIJ_Pioneer, @Super Noob and many others who helped me bring a completely dead unit back to life.

Good to see some compalation of information to restore/ repair a specific model.

Perfect timing! I'm about to start a rebuild on mine. Spent a lot of time reviewing everyone's list of upgrades and substitutions.

I did a minor update to the readme to include additional information about tools and control removal. Specifically focused on my experiences during lubrication of the volume potentiometer.
