Sansui AU 7900. Should I sell it ?

Hi guys.

Im a rookie audio enthousiast. I own 3 amps so far but Im questionning myself. I never really used any pre-amp setup and I know I can use my 2 Sansui (AU7700 and AU7900) together.

The fact is I use my AU7700 as my main amp and my 7900 dont see much action. I dont know why but I prefer Bob Dylan on the 7700. Warmer, softer somehow.

If I sell it, will I regret it the rest of my life because I skiped the chance to use a good pre-amp setup ? Should I keep it ?

I want to get some other gears and I try to determine what I could and shouldnt sell.

Thanks. I really dont know if im making a mistake by concidering selling a very good condition 7900.

Warning: You should sell it before it gets worse. I currently have 15 amps at home. It's ... a burden. :( I remember having only three, and thinking that was too many! I envy you, guy. :)

Hi,

Please Google the review of Sansui AU 7900,its one of the best amplifier sansui produced and a lot of people are using it as a preamp. I just bought one and i dont think will sell it because its very rare and the price is very expensive.Mine is AU 6900 the lower model in term of power but look alike with missing few tone controls.

Check on this link :

A feedback at http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/solid-state/97232-sansui-intergrated-amp-su-7900-a.html speaks volumes of the AU-7900, especially since it was in a shoot-out by a stereo club!

You are absolutely right Rasenthiran.

The AU7900 is an awesome amp. I fired it this morning and damn this amp is good and powerfull. You could lift the roof with it.

I will keep it and use it as a pre-amp.

Thx

I've been listening to my AU 7900 all day long. It's going nowhere. Tomorrow I'm going to pick up my second one which has been in the audio hospital for some rehab. Looking forward to putting it online.
