Sansui au-999 use in bi-amping with power amp 2102 or the type?

It just doesn't allow signal processing?

If I disconnect my preamp from my amplifier I get no sound from my speakers.

Its simple, selecting speaker C is the same as pulling those jumpers out, whatever happens next depends on how you hook it up....

So the external crossover is needed for C outputs driving woofers as stated in the manual referenced above?

Oh I see what you mean, yes once the pre-amp and power-amp is separated, you will need to introduce an electronic crossover/processor to divide the full-range into discrete bands IE; Sub/Mid/High.....

I can tell you 100% that speaker C separates the pre-amp from the power-amp, the pre-amp is full range.

Right, I was wondering about this since the diagram has 3 sets of full range speakers, 1 set each in speaker a, b, and c. Does this mean that tone controls will not engage when using the c speakers, but they will with a & b?

So then I guess my question in regards to this is: Can I hook up one set of speakers (or a sub) to c, run y cables from the pre-outs to a separate power amp b-2102, and back in to the main ins on the au-999. Would this then allow me to run 2 sets of speakers off the c setting using the power amp and c plugs on the 999 (or a set of speakers and a sub) as well as use a and/or b for separate set/s of speakers?

Or would the speakers connected to the power amp be active regardless of what setting the speaker selector is in?

In this scenario would volume and tone controls work for all speaker selections including controlling the power amp?

The tone controls operate on all settings, each filter has its own bypass switch.

Yes you can do that, but remember as soon as you select A or B or A+B, the pre-amp is internally connected to the AU999 power-amp.

No the speaker selector switch would operate as normal, but remember, on A,B A+B the pre-amp is internally connected to the AU999 power-amp.

The tone controls always work regardless of what speaker selection is engaged.
