Sansui AU-D9 restoration

Fantastic details and photos. Most of the pots and switches were disassembled and cleaned. This is certainly one lucky D9 that has been restored "from the inside out".
Obviously this D9 has been blessed to "live forever".
How does it sound after the restore? What are your listening impressions?
Robert.

It is very hard for me to describe sound what that amplifier produce after restoration job has been finished…
Because of two reasons; first – I am not so good with English language that I can explain my listening impressions, second: I dont know how that amplifier sound before because it was not in working condition…

But I can say in comparison with my Sansui G901DB that it has more detail than G901, but sound from my G901 is better for me. It can be because AU-D9 now has so many new electrolytic capacitors, and they need some time to get into full performance, but my first impression is that.
Don’t understand me on wrong way, that sound is very good, it is not “heavy”, it is very clear clean sound, but I like sound from my Big “G”…

Now I am working on some different vintage audio device… if you guess on which audio device (company and model) I am now working, I will send you nice, cleaning Sansui cloth (never used) to yours home address :)

So there is a picture:

The answer I would post here precisely for 24 hours :D

Kale,
Just catching up with AK posts. Very professional work, delight to read.

Thank you mano! I would try to post more thread about restorations on Sansuies. But now, I am working on one NON-Sansui vintage audio product...

You have only 12 minutes to say the right answer and nice Sansui cleaning cloth will be yours :)

Nice receiver anyway...

I saw the 2 jacks at left and thought it could be a Yamaha receiver (first attempt) and then a Marantz... But something like Toshiba, too. Too far! :D

I have the Sanyo JCX2900 that I have yet to venture into. Will you be posting pics of the 2600 build? I'm curious(of course not in the Sansui forum).

Kale...man, amazing work on the AU-D9. Your switch cleaning practice is by far the 'awesomest' on this forum.
Sometimes I dont even take switches apart, as I fear I may damage them more! Yikes!
