Sansui ba 3000 vu meter out of sync

Hi everyone, Im new on audiokarma, I recently bought a sansui CA BA 3000 set up from canada and i realized today ( maybe it was there from the start mayybe not - the differrence is not huge but still notciable) that the vu meters are slightly out of sync. the right level is slightly weaker than the left level. I'm pretty sure it come from the output because the same shows on the vu meters of the CA 3000 : when I swith to input the the vu meters are aligne and when i switch to output the vu meters show the same difference than on the BA 3000.
I am a complete newbie in HIFI and vintage hifi and I was hoping someone could help out with this situation. should I worry about it ? I can't hear the difference but I haven't had the opportunity to push the amp... where could this come from ? I had the set up delivered to me in cuba, could the transport be the cause?

It might be annoying but it isn't a serious problem, especially if you can't hear the difference. You'll need some test gear and technical 'know how' to properly adjust the meters. If the units haven't been reconditioned it might be unwise to do the adjustment anyway, for a variety of reasons.

This is unlikely to change if you 'push the amp'.

No, as described this is very unlikely.
 
It sounds to me like the right channel output is lower than the left. The meters appear to be reading the input signal correctly and the BA's meters are in agreement with what CA's meters are saying about the output.

Try setting the CA's meters to 'output' and adjust the balance control until the meters are better aligned then have a listen and let us know if you hear any difference.

Get the service manual, there is a section on setting up the meters. Chances are the amp needs some service, like carbon comp resistors replaced, and a full recap.
You can download a SPL meter app for your phone. Turn your balance full one side, put your phone ontop of the speaker, read the output. Do the same for the other side.
Are they the same or different? Do not go by the meters, they are not accurate, unless they have just been setup properly.
 
Thanks a lot for the advice! the seller told me it had been completely service less than a couple of years ago by Ring Audio in Toronto, he told me all the solder joints had been check and everything brought to spec... ANy clue has to where the difference in the meters could come from ? ( could it be only calibration ?)
 
so I checked with an SPL meter app and switch balance from to right and the right side is definetly lower. even without the SPL it is obvious.... what can this mean ? Thank you for any help ! its frustrating, the sound is amazing but this unbalance is ruining everything
