Sansui C-2301 oh my!

Congratulations Jim!
The C-2301 is simply a masterpiece from Sansui. When I bought and received my C-2301, I was truly impressed with its build quality and phono stage. One thing to keep in mind with the C-2301 is that it doesn't have good ventilation and there can be internal overheating in the power supply area.
My C2301 is running with my Pioneer M-77 and my SAE 2600 but is waiting for the last piece that I want to buy to close the circle the BA-5000.

Thanks! I am pretty thrilled. And thanks for the tip on the potential overheating in the power supply - I'll look for issues there. A C-2301 + BA-5000 will be a seismic pairing. That SAE 2600 is no slouch either - active cooling it looks like too! They sure made some great looking amplifiers. I will eventually pair my CA-2301 up with a BA-2301 or BA-2301L, and hopefully in the not to distant future.

The SAE 2600 is a beast!
400W by channel in 8ohm and 600W in 4ohm it’s an amazing power amplifier with active cooling too it’s a little bit noisy but necessary to dissipate the enormous heat generated by the eight control transistors and 16 output transistors.
Here some pictures!

Located a B-2301L. Really looking forward to this X-Balanced powerhouse!
Good luck Jim with your purchase. I had very bad luck with the two B-2301L units, both described as functional and in good condition, and I received them both burned out.

I think in terms of price they were good buys, but that's part of the risk of buying in Japan.

Thanks @EMenendez. I know what you mean. I think I am at about 50% success out of Japan. Just this last week I had a restored Sansui CD player show up from Japan. Properly packaged, but the tray broken inside from transit. A real shame. This is the second nice CD player from Japan I have had this happen with. I did recently find another CA-303 in Japan that had kind of a vague description about working and being restored. It showed up and is COMPLETELY restored, and I mean everything with premium capacitors. So sometimes we win.

The B-2301L I found is claimed original owner, with original box and working. So fingers crossed!

Funny that my record (so far) of importing JDM gear has been spotless. While I haven't made a lot of purchases from Japan, (7 8 to date) quality of packing and shipping from there has been far better than purchase made domestically over the last few years.

Knock on wood!

Not sure if you play much vinyl but these NOS SAE AT-1000 HOMC’s were around a couple of years ago. They look very sharp and sound wonderful.

I have my Technics SL-1200GR but honestly for the last couple of years I've only listened to music via streaming, DVDs and CDs.

The SAE AT-1000 look good!!!
I think that the SL-1200GR was the first and maybe the last turntable.
