Sansui C2101 Preamp

I have come across a C2101 and am curious from those who own or have owned this unit - are the knobs on this metal or plastic? They look to be similar to those on an AU/717/919/X1 (Ie., metal), But I cannot quite tell from the pictures.

They are aluminum shell over a plastic core. Shafts are half flatted, not splined as on older Sansui gear like the AU-717. The volume knob has a set screw, as the volume shaft is round with no flat or splines.

The C-2101 and C-2102 are identical inside and out. @Sansuiman is correct. Knobs are plastic inners with aluminum caps.
They are very nice pre-amps. Quite complex inside. They have nice features such as a parametric equalizer, loudness , and subsonic. Has both mm/ mc for phono.
Biggest issue is most switching is done with relays that tend to corrode.

Ah, very good. I have sourced one and it is en route. Thank you so much!

My C-2101 arrived today. A bit dirty (and will need a refresh inside and out), but I am very impressed with how it sounds actually. It’s superb. The parametric equalizer is a pleasure to use and listen to, in fact. When I was an “audiophile” I rejected these. As I have gotten older and wiser, I use them and enjoy them. And on a related note, the loudness button is a revelation. Not since the 9090 have I found the loudness button to offer so much. It just seems to “open up” the music at low/moderate volumes.

Very impressed with this preamp!
