Sansui CA-3000 ... with tubes !!

So, I have several Sansuis . I mostly use the G901 and CA-2000 . I bought also a CA-3000 a couple of years ago just to see it ( I prefer the ca-2000 looks and volume knob). I gave the ca-3000 for restoration ( recap etc ) and I found out..... that there is an add on with tubes .. !! after the volume output ! There is nothing changed to the machine, just this add on. Two technisians that saw it told me to keep it cause it was done very good job ( expensive also ) and the sound is much better. What do you think? (also, if I decide to sell it, will this lower the price or increase it?)
Thank you !

That is quite an interesting modification, and looks well done in terms of the installation. Any further information about exactly what it's doing?

While difficult to say with any certainty, I'd guess it would impact the resale value negatively since it is non-factory, and is presumably undocumented. Do you have schematics and notes with the unit that explains the modification? Honestly though, if it sounds good, just keep it and enjoy it.

Sorry , no schematics .
Yes, it sounds good, but as I said I use mostly others. It will end to be decor.

Understood. I'm uncertain how easy it will be to sell in its modified state. With luck, you will find a buyer willing to offer a good price for it. While there is nothing wrong with it as it sits now, many - if not most - looking for A CA-3000, will prefer one in factory condition, irrespective of how well executed the tube modification is. That will also complicate servicing of the unit in the future.
