I received a killer deal on this Sansui CA-F1 Pre Amp and could not say no. This unit has the Classic Sansui sound that I enjoy so much.

I am in negotiations for the BA-F1 amp and things are looking promising.

Anyone here know how these F1's stack up against the 3K seperates?

Sansui CA-F1

Wow! What a beauty. I have no experience with the separate pre-amps and I think it's going to be hard to find someone with an answer. I couldn't get much of a response in comparing the CA 2000 with the CA 3000. I think that I remember a post saying that at some point this was one of EchoWar's favorite pre-amps and the CA-F1 and BA-F1 is supposed to correspond to the AU-919 integrated like the CA 3000 and BA 3000 correspond to the AU 20000. I myself have a lot of trouble telling the integrateds apart, the AU 919 and the AU 11000. Sound aside, if I could get these separates I would. Especially in such spectacular condition. Congratulations.

I'm looking for a CA-F1 service manual, interested to know how to cailbrate the VR01 bias. I'm keen to compare my CA-F1 to my AU-919's pre, on first impressions they are very similar in sound quality.

That's pretty impressive inside. Toroidal transformer, sealed alps volume controls, everything nicely laid out. Very nice preamp.

Hi,
Did you ever find a service manual for the Sansui CA F1?
I need the manual also to bring mine up to spec.
I have some DC offset causing a pop when the time delay relay connects the output Jacks.

If you have the manual to scan I'd be most appreciative.

Thanks,
Paul
