Sansui eight deluxe speaker matching

[Cocinero196]

Hi guys, i've been researching about speakers that would match well with a Sansui Eight Deluxe. So far, here's what i've gathered:

Perfect match would be something like the JBL L-100, or Pioneer HPM-100 Speakers
I still like the Eight Deluxe/JBL L100 combo.
I especially like a pair of KLH Model 5's and ADS L810s with that sound of Sansui 8D.
As for speakers, I am thinking Allison Fours, AR-2a, JBL L100 or L26, or Celestion SL6 with the 8D.

Looks like the JBL L100 is on top.
Any recommendations? (I don't mind getting used modern floorstanders, let's keep it in or below the $1,000-$1,200 range)

I like clean detailed punchy sound w/ great imaging.

TIA!

It's a very personal question and I wouldn't say there is a perfect speaker for the 8D. The 8D is capable of driving a large number of speakers without breaking a sweat.

And, the speakers you mention are quite different in taste. The JBl and Pioneer are brighter rock speakers with a west coast type sound and the Allison Fours and AR-2s are classic east coast sound. You need to decide which taste you want. For me, it would be the east coast sound. I have tried the Eight D with Allison Two speakers and it was great. Fours would also be nice.

I run mine with a pair of TimeFrame 400s and they seem a perfect pair for me.

I have run mine with KLH 6, KLH 5, AR 2AX, Epicure 20+, DCM TF 700, JBL 4311, Realistic Nova 8B and more......lol. I think the 8D can make a pile of crap sound good.
