Anyone have a photo of this elusive power cord?

THIS one fits. IT is not original.

The original is black and the end is much more a square cornered rectangle.

It doesn't seem to be in the standard either

I recently acquired an Eight that needed a power cable but did fortunately snag one on the auction site. However, I did do some online research and it seems several people found suitable replacement by taking a ruler or micrometer around to local 2nd hand shops, focusing on vintage shavers and kettles to find a suitable match (note that the pin diameter and spacing is non-standard today but was more common back in the day, so measure up).

There is one on E-bay right now. Just listed. The buy it now looks like the seller knows it's desirable. Too much for a $6 cord, but if someone really wants one.

Or, wait to see if one comes up someday for less. Mine was way less.

I just took a look by searching for Sansui Power Cord in sold listings. Two have sold recently, one of each style but what really gets me is people are paying $15-20 for an ordinary hard wired power cord off a 40 year old Sansui receiver.

That $21 one in the completeds is the one I posted about. Sold pretty quick. It is pretty crazy what people are paying for a standard cord. I have a gold mine in my parts drawer.

Boy, wish one of my relatives could find one in the attic!
Worked on a few back in the 70s when I did a lot of Audio work.
Always thought they were really nice units.
