Sansui G-22000 eBay Listing Record!!

I would have to believe this is the first time in eBay history that 4 (four) separate G-22000's have been simultaneously offered for auction! Didn't it used to be you were lucky to see 2 in an entire year? Last Fall saw a healthy rise in the numbers, but this is quite an anomoly.

Also, possibly a record that at least two of them are from our own AK members:

I emailed the guy with the parts one and told him to hook a portable CDP or iPod up to it and bypass the preamp because based on the pics it looks like it comes out of protection (though they're awfully fuzzy). If he doesn't wish to do this I'd be suspicious.

There are also three CA-3000 pre amps. That is weird too. It's rare to see one of these let alone three. (Even if one is bogus.)

Actualy, another was up along with a couple of those that was also from an AK'er.
Let's not forget #5 (mine) that ended a couple days after LBPete listed his.
I couldn't believe the number of auctions that popped up for these things. #4 was the one that was listed a couple of weeks ago and the auction ended early. It was re-listed with a reserve and a $1,000 BIN, but didn't sell.
I waited until it only had a couple of days left to end before I listed mine, thinking it would be better to be the only one up. All of a sudden a few more pop up. Thanks a lot LB! Just kidding. That cabinet sure is beautiful.

I'm wondering why everybody is selling off their G-22000's... :scratch2:
I've never heard one in person but they are awfully stunning to gaze at !!!
I don't think I could bring myself to sell one, unless I really had too... :no:

Well, my story is I purchased a lot of 3 items. It included the G-22000, A Mcintosh MC-2505 amp, and an Accuphase C-200 preamp. My idea was to re-sell the Sansui for what I paid for the entire lot and keep the MC and Accuphase. I basically ended up with a Mcintosh amp and Accuphase preamp for about a hundred bucks. I hooked them up tonight for the first time and watched a movie, and all I can say is WOW! All early solid state, but very warm and detailed sound.
I listened to the Sansui for several days before I listed it, but to be totaly honest, it just didn't do much for me. Yeah, it's big, heavy, and powerful, but I just don't think they sound as good as some other receivers out there. Maybe I am a little biased since I do prefer the sound of seperates over most receivers anyway. The G-22000 is pretty cool looking though!

There have been a few AKer's that have had one or another of the two big G's and they seem to have been, well, underwhelmed by the actual sound.
Congrats on good sales guys.

I knew that name in the bogus one as soon as I saw it...go to THIS thread!
I've been back and forth with her a few times, all documented on the thread.
 
I emailed #3 G-22000 told him to bypass the preamp and see if it worked. Still doesn't, didn't add the question to the auction either.
 
In case you are wondering how to show case your gear in order to give the most information yet put your gear in the lime light??

Look at number 2. . . for the right way

Wrong way>>?? Look at number 1. . . We know he can take it apart but can he get it back together?? Do we want it after it was dissambled to such an extent?? Do we need to know what it looks like behind the knobs??

Number 3 tries but needs better pics. . . much better pics. . .

Several months ago, I scored a G-33000. Just don't need it and the G-22. Personally, I think its a great receiver. Absolutly stunning. The only downside is it is huge. It dwarfs all other receivers.
