Sansui G-33000

$2,500 is my guess, even though it really irks me when people use 'mint' and it's clearly got marks and smudges on it.

Hello Folks,

Given the obscurity of these and the fact that the last G-22000 sold for $2075.00, SX-1980’s routinely pulling in $2000.00+, I would say $3000.00+ might get you the prize. One sold here on AK for $2900.00 last fall, they've hit $4000.00+ and record was $7101.00 for NIB.

There are however, a couple of things about this listing that would hinder it fetching 3K or more. First, is the seller’s profile, new since 12/09 and have only completed small purchases, clothing mainly. Second would be the statement by them “Just got it rebuilt and detailed using all original parts (spent close to $1,000).”, Having both pilot lamps out on the right side and dust on the bonnet and screw heads would signify otherwise. :scratch2:

It is located in Washington, so I will be watching this one anyways.

Regards,
TB

That is a good point - also, why would you have an item rebuilt with NOS parts, especially capacitors - when modern equivalents would be so ideal?

Certainly many questions to be asked. Surely, he wouldn't have put NOS caps back in there, would he?:scratch2: I was thinking he meant knobs, pots switches, heat sinks... that kind of stuff.

It'll break 3G....no question. G-33K's are hard to come by and I'm willing to bet someone will push it past $3000 [ not me, BTW :D ] regardless of condition or stated condition.

Another FLUFF description. Question is would you send $3,000 plus to a seller who can't represent an item's condition properly? The bigger question is does this G-33K actually exist?

I don't know but I've been told: serial number on each of the units is 238120056 and 238120067

$3000 +

Nice................................who knows............will be interesting.
Im going to basically build 2 x 300 watt tube amps and use my AU-999 as a pre. I reckon that will top the 33000............maybe..........

Wow, the old G still pulled in $4,239.89 , in the range other mint specimens have. It goes to show that even in today's economy with a poorly put together auction, the King still garners the utmost respect.

I'll be watching to see how things go with feedback between the two. I'd venture that the new owner never gets the receipts on the rebuild and the seller is now taking a rag to the piece, hence the $1000.00 spent with on detailing and original parts.

Q: Would you mind if I asked who rebuilt the unit and when? Thanks.

A: The stereo was rebuilt by a professional company in Olympia WA called Desco Electronics Inc. I still have all the receipts and paper work for that as well. I had it cleaned up a lot too. It took 9 weeks to do and I just got it back on Thursday the 25th of February. Happy bidding :)

I wonder what it looked like before the claimed cleaned up. :scratch2:

Regards,
Mike
