SANSUI G 6000 Internal Switch

G'da y folks, I'm brand new to AudioKarma Forum so please bear with me: I have just come across a near perfect G-6000. Clean as a whistle inside and out. When turning on the protection relays releases after about 6 seconds and all looks great.

I left it in this condition for 8 hrs with volume fully down and all other pots at flat response. Connected an MP# through aux just for test purposes and cans from the headphone output. Slowly cranked up volume and no sound at all. Tried FM/AM still nothing.

Opened the unit and the four fuses megga out OK. But I did notice a small "on/off" style switch inside too. As far as I could I visually checked all caps and they appear normal, no puking or swelling and no signs of over heating or burning anywhere...

I guess this is where I need to be pointed in the right direction:

Have I come across a typical fault?
What is that small switch for?

Thank you and I look forward to your responses.
