I can't count the G-8000's and G-9000's with seriously scorched reg PC boards that I've seen. It's just not a great design, and it is for sure a poor location. You're right, but the 1250 has a LOT less screws to remove to get it done, and in general it's just a lot easier.
Ive been playing the G-9000 for about a week now and i must say it has so much more power then the sx-1250. EchoWars may remember my previous comments about my sx-1250 which had the four big caps replaced with clusters of 4 smaller cap per single big cap. This was done as the previou person could not obtain the 22,000 caps. I wonder if this has anything to do with the sx-1250 not being as punchy in sound as the g-9000. The G-9000 drives the ns-1000 speakers beautifully and provides enough power to give the speakers the correct amount of bass to make the speakers sing. The SX sounds good as it has had all the caps replaced and has been totally been gone over. I wonder if i replaced the caps with the original ones if it would sound better/stronger?
They're both beasts! I did hang on to one SX-1050 though.
