Sansui G5700

There is a G5700 for sale locally, I am thinking about picking up. I have a 5000a that needs work, does anyone have experience with both of these receivers. I am planning on having the 5000a overhauled and fixed and I am wondering if they both were working which would be better.

Thanks

Well that was a short lived agreement, they backed out to sell to someone else. oh well
If you want one of these G receivers, go for a 6700 or 7700, they are a bit more robust, more power etc...

Make sure the fluroscan display for the tuner is working properly.
Take the top off and make sure the glue hasn't got to the driver board.
Make sure its not been hacked buy someone, as these amps can go unstable and let go, and I have seen some rather butcher type repairs on them.

They are nice receivers and sound great, they may not have quite the build quality of the previous G series, but they are still a great performer, and I like the look of them, hence my G7700 and G9700.

Thanks for the info, it was a spur of the moment decision. I have been looking for another Sansui Receiver with a little more power, and they don't pop up locally, I will keep on looking.

A G7700 would be good buying, they don't tend to be overpriced, but they pack a punch and sound great.
