Sansui Lateral and anti-skate weights & dimensions

Hi, after trawling though numerous posts its seems to be a common and very seldom answered question for the weight & dimensions of both the lateral and anti-skate weights of various sansui turntables. I own 3 tables (SR-212,SR-313 & SR-525) and i only have the anti-skate weight for the SR-212. After doing much searching i've found the weight of both weights for the SR-525 and the dimensions of the lateral weight from threads on this forum which i'll try and link. I was thinking it would good if anyone who has weights on their turntable (what ever model it is) and the facility to measure or/and weigh them, if you could post them here and maybe start a sticky to help anyone in the future it would be much appreciated.

Im really needing the SR-313 weights and dimensions if anyone has them? The SR-717 also seems to be a common one asked if anybody has them?

I've got a couple of lathes so im going to be manufacturing the weights which im missing. i'll post some pics of them finished and if anyone is needing ones as im sure i could fabricate some more up.

SR-212 anti-skate
Weight = 1.6 grams
Diameter = 6.73mm
Length = 7.72mm
Thread Length = 74mm

SR-525 anti-skate

Thread Length = Unknown

Here are the measurements for a SR-929 Lateral weight (thanks to JOMARK911). If you end up making one I would be interested! Thanks

diameter 13,65mm

height 14,70mm

stem diameter 1,90mm

stem length 39,59mm

Weight: 20,60gramms

hi, i'll make you one after i get the 525 weights done. having a bit of a issue getting 1.9 - 2.0mm rod for the lateral weights at the moment.

I used 6 lb. monofilament and split shot sinkers on my 525. It's not jewelry-pretty, but it's functional.

Very kind if you can, let me know cost when you get to it and happy to compensate. Thanks

For the Sansui SR-717 turntable:

Lateral Weight (cylinder): 17.97 mm / 0.7075 inches long, 11.70 mm / 0.4605 inches in diameter. Total weight: 15.3 grams.

I am missing the Sansui-issued anti-skating weight, but when I inquired on audioasylum.com (Vintage category) back in 2006, a member there weighed his Sansui weight as being 2.3 grams.

Regarding the lateral weight: it is not simply a cylinder with a hole running through the diameter so it will go on the rod. While the top of the cylinder is flat, the bottom is not — I’ve attached a couple of pictures. There is an indented area, and there is a tapped hole that is threaded, with what is likely to be a pointed screw that would be advanced to contact the rod, holding the weight in place. You can see the slot on the pointed screw, but at the moment I cannot get it to advance or come out. I’ll put a few drops of penetrating oil in the shaft and let it sit for a while, and report back.

I couldn't bring myself to buy a repro when a penny works so well. I think it is illegal to deface currency, but considering it was only one cent I took my chances and drilled a hole in the top of Abe's head and hung it with a piece of fishing line on my SR525.

I just picked up a 313. It's missing the lateral weight but has the counter balance weight.
I would love to know the weight of the lateral so I can try and find a replacement. Does anyone know if the 717 is the same? I can measure my weight from my 717 for reference.
Thanks to anyone who can answer, Joe

Hello everyone, does anyone have the dimensions of the anti-skating side weight for the Sansui sr 9 2 9 help

Hi,
I have the SR-4050C TT and it's missing the lateral weight. Anyone know the specs and a source to buy one? I've struck out with internet searches.
Thanks!

I have a penny and lightweight thread on one of my SME tonearms... as Colonel Kurtz would say “the horror” but it seems to work (although I may ante up to a nickel).

So, "a penny for your thoughts" LOL. Seriously though, If anyone comes up with the specs let me know.
