Sansui matching leds needed for TU-9900 and BA2000

I finally snatched up a TU-9900 tuner to go with my
CA/BA 2000 combo!

Now I need to match the lights. Ideally I’d really really really like to find someone that has the know how to put together a set of matching ’CYAN’ leds for these units.

I’ve already tried the light blue, green, warm white (with color filter), cool white (with color filter) and standard incandescent (with color filter). I concluded that I like the bright saturated look of the colored leds and currently have a green set in the amp meters but my tuner needs new bulbs. I’d consider a set of green for the tuner dial and meters but would vastly prefer cyan.

I think there’s enough of the CA/BA/TU series being restored to warrant one of the led makers to put together a CYAN series. I think that they would very quickly become ‘the choice’ for lamp replacement in this series and I’m sure many other brands and units. The current choices just don’t do it quite right. I’m actually a little surprised nobody is using cyan chips.

I’m really hoping this thread will inspire someone to make this a reality so please help by spreading the word and let’s figure this out. I know I’d sure be willing to purchase a set.

PS- I’ve got a nice soldering station and basic DIY skills myself but just don’t have to time to adequately research and learn everything required to do this right. I know there are quite a few folks on here that already have the knowledge and experience. Please help.

I tried him yesterday per your suggestion, thanks. Unfortunately it was a no go, but he was very responsive and had some useful suggestions. I’m still on the hunt.

Edit: This was a response to what @greymatter said. I had meant to reply directly with quote but apparently didn’t.

Perfect! That’s exactly what I was hoping someone would do, thank you. I know that the companies that make aquarium lighting and grow lights for plants will happily use whatever color diodes you request. Cyan and aqua colored chips are quite common.

I knew that would work! Your the man! Thanks for taking the initiative.
Now the next step will be seeing what chips they actually used. Various manufacturers make cyan chips that vary from about 490nm to 515nm. 490 being more on the blue side and 515 being more green.
