Sansui P-L50 not working??

Hi Analog fans,

A friend has this P-L50 sansui Linear Drive tt. It powers on but that is all. He said it has been in storage for 3 years.

Any Insight on where to begin to get it going or if it is even worth the effort.

I was given a similar Sansui P-L75 ( black ), a couple of summers ago.

It light up and the turntable turns, but I have not gone beyond that.

I keep putting off working on it!

The SM does not show how the case comes apart? I will have to wing it..LOL
In the SM I see (2) belts so far, and a wire?:scratch2:

I have worked on those, but I can't remember exactly how they come apart.
There may be a removable section under the platter, you will have to position the tone arm over that before attempting to remove the case.
