I have a qrx 9001 that I have had for a while and haven't used much at all and I built a new listening room so I'm getting out all my gear and setting it all up.
I had no signal for phono even after working the selector switch a few times so I tried different inputs and it worked on tape and auxiliary.
So today I took the case and bottom off to clean everything. It needed it anyway after sitting so long.
I started on the selector switch and it seemed odd to me. It clicked as I turned it and I saw a a metal spring? on the bottom inside. But it didn't seem to turn any of the inner wafers/boards with all the contact points.
Seemed odd to me with my limited experience and after a few minutes I looked closer. There was a gap at the front of the switch between the front housing and the first switch where the the shaft should be. So I looked at the end of the shaft and when I lightly touched it and pushed it in toward the front it went in place and the selector switch worked.
It works it's way out after working the switch several times.
Is there a set screw inside that is loose or is the shaft broken?
Don't really want to disassemble if I don't have to.
