pardon, but quick stupid question...im not home with my gear, so i cant look for myself, would my au 505 be happy with 4 ohm speakers..or is it 8 ohm only, ty in advance

nm.. though my model wasnt specifically mentioned in the brochures etc in the sansui link, the closest to mine all would be satisfied with 4 ohms

Sometimes on the back of amplifiers/receivers, they say its ok to use speakers with impedances between 4-8 ohms. I would say that using 4 ohm speakers, is ok. Your Sansui may heat up a little more, depending on your volume levels, but it will suffer no ill effects!

and now i wonder if it would be safe to hook up 4 ohms to my dynaco a120 amp, considering those run a little warmer than some
