Sansui question

I'm thinking about adding a Sansui G-7500 to my collection. So far I have a Yamaha cr-1020, Marantz 2250 and 2265b. I've heard good things about Sansui receivers. If the Sansui owners would let me know what they think of the G-7500 i would appreciate it.

I don't own one, but I do know that the G-series stuff is very-good (Excellent build-quality), however it certainly falls into the "accurate/neutral"-sounding category as far as Sansuis go. Not as warm-sounding as your 2265b. Which is your favorite out of the receivers you currently- own? That might help to explain what type of sound you prefer. I have 2 older Sansuis from the early '70's that I think are fantastic, but I like the warmer-sounding stuff a lot more than the later, more-accurate-sounding receivers. For some, the G-series models are the best Sansui ever made, but everybody's ears are different. The 7500 is certainly not the biggest, baddest one from that line, but it's still good.

Lots of Sansui owners on here, so others are sure to chime in. I'm extremely-happy with my Sansui 2000x (but that's much-older than the G-7500 - The G-series models are from the early '80's while my 2000x is from '72).

As far as I know, the G-7500 came after the G-7000 and before the G-7700.

I have a G-871DB and a G-8000. They both are great receivers, with the build of the G-8000 being superior. The built of the G-7500 would probably be somewhere in between.

If the price is right, I say get it.

Edit: I worked on a Marantz 2265B, and I did not find it to be a "warm" sounding receiver.
It was very nice though.

Really? Good to know. I figured it was similar to the other mid-late '70's 22**-series Marantz models. Either way, I figured it HAD to be a warmer-sounding receiver than a G-series Sansui, which would be more of a pristine, accurate sound. There seem to be plenty of the G models for sale whenever I check online, so I would only buy it if the price was good if I were the OP.

Anyway, plenty of others on here who know a lot more than I do about the G-series stuff. Those really aren't my thing (Purely a preference - Nothing wrong with them).

The Sansui sounds like a winner. 90 wpc is certainly enough power for me. The 2265b is a fantastic receiver in my opinion. The 2250 has more of that "warm" Marantz sound, again in my opinion. I don't think any two people hear the same. It sounds like the Yamaha sound is closer to the Sansui sound as far as being neutral.

in the middle

I don't have the exact models listed but my G5000 seems about half way between my marantz 2375 and 2230s and my Yamaha CR640. The G5000 seems more nuetral then the older 5000A and 661.
