Thanks, good receiver, great, POS? I'm thinking it is probably not worth $250 but, hey, you get some JVC speakers!:thmbsp:
 
Good eye Vintage+ It's a 7000. A little more uncommon as far as Sansui's go. For it's time, it was second or third from the top of the line for Sansui. Good strong tuner section and I think about 70 watt a channel. Well built and nice sound but can develop weird audio problems easily from dirty controls and if I remember right the push buttons on that model were a pain in the @*% to clean and DeOxit. Price feels high to me. For the $ it should be minty clean and have no issues, and the speakers should be in nice shape as well. If you give it a test listen make sure you twist every knob and push the buttons.
 
I have a 7000, which IMO sounds nicer than the 4000 I used to have and my 881 I still got. I think around $150 for good, maybe $200 for minty is about right. Pioneer SX-850/880 brings about that much and this one is better.
 
The rcvr is a great one and worth about 150 which is undervalued but that's the way they are.
Tell him to keep the speakers..
 
I got mine for $3 - at a garage sale - I think $250, even with the speakers is way off - offer them $150 it may need some work.
