Sansui repair center in days past??

Here is the least likely to be answered question of the day:

Circa 1980...

Did Sansui ever maintain a centralized repair facility in North America?

Or did they only offer repair and manufacturer recall work through licensees?

They had one in the UK - it was titled their 'Authorised Service Centre' (so, not necessarily run by Sansui) - but I was only aware of it's existence after about 1985, and I think it closed a short time afterwards.

I had a shop I was running in 1979-1980. We were a warrantee service center for a lot of companies, but not sure if Sansui was one of them.

They used manufactures representatives. Many stores that sold Sansui had their own repair shops. When I bought my Pioneer in 1978 they offer 5 year warranty, 2 years from the mfg and additional 3 years by the shop that sold the gear. Unheard of these days except for electronic lighting ballasts.

A 40 year old tech from 1980 would be 76 today. A 30 year old one 66. A fresh out of Electronics school tech of 25 in 1980 would be 61.

Here in Japan some ex-Sansui factory techs started Aqua Audio Labs. They naturally specialize in Sansui repair.

The one shot of the glue removal...He does it without harming the silk screen print seemingly.
With a screwdriver of all things. The way it chips off it appears no glue softener was used.
