Sansui S 520u speakers???

Thinking about getting a set used from a local. Their asking 50 for both. Is this a good price and are they good speakers? I want to match it to a Marantz 2270. Current using a polk audio Monitor 40...do you think these would sound better?

They don't look anything special. Generally Sansui speakers....meh...IMHO. Those kinda look like they came from a cheap rack system. You are probably better off with the Polks.

Look for

Early KLH, Acoustic Research (AR), Advent, Dynaco, Yamaha NS to name a few.

These seem to show up in the classifieds quite frequently.

Any particular models I should look for in the speakers suggested? Could u advise maybe 1 model number from each of the brands? Looking for smaller size version, if possible, but sounding good.

I had these speakers (SANSUI A-520U) and their little brothers.. I bought a pair of Klipisch SF-2 and put them side by side... Sansui reigns supreme... rare experience though, Klipisch show better definition in human voices clear and strong, while Sansui miss them completely... put Sansui on A and Kliplisch on B and wow! all come together fine... superb.
