Sansui Safe to turn on with missing driver PCAs?

Hi All,
I’m repairing a G8700db with massive driver board issues.

Generally, is it safe to turn on these high end families of models 9090 family, 9000 family & 9700 family with both Audio Driver amp PCAs (L&R) removed?

Specifically, is it safe to power on my G8700db with both Driver PCAs removed from the unit.

Reasoning, since these Driver PCAs have had a smoky life, I want to check the PS outputs without risking letting more smoke out after I rebuild them.

All thoughts appreciated.

Yes. It's more than fine.

I don't know of any units where it isn't ok to turn on if something is disconnected.....

New boards on eBay if you need them.

Ivan, I just tested the output transistors on my g8700db. 3 of 4 bad on left channel. Does this “rule” still apply apply? Is it safe to turn on my g8700db with these 4 output transistors (left channel) removed? With the right channel fully installed?

I mean this honestly and not maliciously - If you are asking these questions, I’m not sure you should be working on this unit.

Hi Ivan, thanks for your honesty. Yes I do have a DBT. So, would still like your thoughts on my question.
