On a more serious note, new belts help older decks in a big way. The capstan (rubber wheel that moves the tape) will need to be cleaned. Try Rubber Re-new-it. Absolutely don't use alcohol. A degaussing of the heads help too, they're expensive to buy for one time use. Maybe a friend of yours has one.

I own an SC 3330 and had it rack mounted in my GX 5 for awhile. Currently it is in a stand alone. It is a nice playing and sounding deck. A little bit of an up grade from the SC 3110 which only has one motor vice the two motors for the SC 3330. I've replaced motors and belts on SC 1110, 2110 and SC 3100, 3110 which isn't too difficult. I've even replaced belts on on the human torture machine SC 5110 with success. I haven't had to replace belts or motors on the SC 3330 but I have a SM. Cassette Decks really depend on condition and how well they were cared for and amount of used. The SC 3330 is little later build, 1980. The SC 3330 I acquired has low hours and looks like new including tape transport. Hope you enjoy yours. Your thread caused me to fire it up and I'm listening to it will I finish this reply

Btw - didn't suceed yet to measure the needed main belt lenght for my 2110 (I'm not at home in these days
) - but I got an offer for a belt with 63mm diameter - aprox 190-193mm lenght (but the guy ain't sure is that "service remain" of his ex 1110 or some other deck) - if someone here knows will that suit to 2110 - I would be very gratefull and the deck will get running up few days earlier 
I also have a plan to degauss the heads - the guy that sold the deck to me said his friend has got this device - so at first oportunity - the head will get degaussed

Maybe, I have (3) decks I want to rebelt, CT-F700, JVC KD-3030, and last but not least the SC-3330.
Busy doing tt repairs right now.
