Sansui Serial Number Database Update

Nice! The AU-222 was in production a long time. From June '68 to September '71. Yours was built on production line 51 in February '70. Line 51 was also building the AU-777D that month.

Here are 22 for the list. My September contribution. I hope they are all new at least from my earlier efforts..

Thanks for posting your serial numbers. Your AU-919 was built on production line 22 in July 1979. It was the 312th unit off that line that month. Line 22 was busy that month. It was also building AU-D907s, AU-D607s, and AU-719s.

The SE-8X was built on production line 44 in September, 1983. It was the 1,839th unit off that line that month. Line 44 was also building the SE-8II and the SE-9.

@Monicker1, thanks as always!

Are you trying to corner the market on 5000s? How many do you have now?

- Pete
Well, the number is N+1... Actually, I only have 8 in stock right now. I go through them completely and then sell them. After working many units over the years, when a 5000 came in, I was very pleased with it's sonic characteristics. I don't believe I've found anything in it's price range that sounds as good. So I stocked up on rebuild supplies, and started buying them for rehab. It's gotten to the point that in addition to the factory serial number, I put my own number on them as well. I'm up to number i2i 260012 (12th 5000 unit restored in 2026 by i2i Audio).
