Actually, SP-3500 are gorgeous-looking and great sounding speakers.
However, general concensus here that they are $10 speakers. Why? Probably because 10 years ago they were in great supply on garage sales. There is even a special non-respectable term for them (K-word).

It's hard to swallow the price jumped 50 times. Probably supply dries and demand (from overseas) grow 100 times.

My opinion? Keep 'em, if mint. Much nicer looking then 99% of well respectable classis speakers. That's count. Foreigners probably buying look. Totally understandable, that's how I select almost anything.

Looking at ebay, speaker prices are going up. I hardly ever see them at yard sales or thrifts anymore. It looks like they are becoming more and more collectible.

I sure wish he was my neighbor. I got SP2000 looking like new in the original boxes, and I can't give them away for $50

I picked up a very nice pair of SP-3500's yeaterday in a deal with a Technics SU-V4, ST-S3, and SH-8010 stack for a very reasonable price.
I orginally did not want the SP-3500's but the guy made me an offer that was too good to pass up.
Based on this sale I'm glad that I got them.
I would sell mine for $ 100.00 and be happy at that.

There are 4 tiny philips head screws; one in each corner of the grille. You may need a flashlight or a magnet to locate them.

I sold four of them minus one woofer to dennydog for $30 total and I felt like I got a pretty good deal. Granted, the cabinets were well-beaten.
