I'd say fine examples (higher models, collectible condition specimens) of Sansui SP-series and Pioneer CS-series are quite valuable.
Contrary to a popular believe.

In my opinion, they are one of the best speakers ever in look department. And actually play very well.

Pioneer and Sansui lattice grills are quite different in style.
Sansui also have different style of grills. For instance SP-2500 and SP-3500 have the same style of grills and badges. While SP-2000 has absolutely distinctive "double-edge" grills and round badges.
Sound is very subjective, but the high built quality of SP-series and CS-series are very real.
These aesthetic details are probably matter for collectors.

Hmm, i paid $50 for mine and the guy threw in a set of KLH model 23's for free back then. If I can get that kind of money, I think they might be going.

That's the price range in which i buy Altecs. I guess i need to adjust my selling policy as i've always given away the 'sui SP's i've owned in the past.

I sold my mint set on CL for 130. I saw a few sets go for those numbers on ebay, but they were mixed in with several 100 final auctions as well. Something looked fishy.

I personally wouldn't pay that for a pair of them as I would rather have the Altecs that Bowtie sells! Now to find a pair of Altec 19's for 500 dollars, I will post a dancing banana!
