I'm not skilled in electronics and have only recently learned some things about my Sansui SP200s from this website and others. I have speakers that I purchased 50 years ago. One still sounds good. The other quit omitting a full range of sound. I used a spray degreaser on the selector switch and sound returned to the woofer and perhaps made the other speakers perform better. In any case it was an improvement. I just had the 4 capacitors replaced with Dayton Audio DMPC-2.0 2.0uF 250V Polypropylene Capacitor, Dayton Audio DMPC-3.0 3.0uF 250V Polypropylene Capacitor, Dayton Audio PMPC-8.2 8.2uF 250V Precision Audio Capacitor, and Solen 24uF 400V Polypropylene Capacitor. Someone other than myself did the work. After trying out the speaker at home, it appears that neither one of the midrange speakers are working at all. I am not positive they were working before replacing the caps. I took off the front grill and lightly touched the speakers and could not feel any vibration from them. So, I need help in identifying things to check. Which capacitor(s) are associated with the midrange speakers? Is it the 8.2uf? The wiring to the midrange speakers and crossover board connections seems to be connected properly. What else is there to investigate for source of midrange speakers not working? I certainly appreciate any and all help.

Well nobody replied and that's OK as I managed to solve this problem on my own. After I had someone replace the 4 capacitors and I discovered the mid range speakers were not functioning, I discovered that one of the wire leads on the 24uf Solen cap was loose and not soldered properly. So, went back to the guy and he fixed that, but it still did not function. After a lot of testing connections etc., another wire coming from a coil to one of the connector posts was also loose. Re-soldering that and magic, everything works.
